Mascota: literally pet, a mascota is a mini, who rather than wrestle often acts as a valet to a popular luchador during his or her entrada al ring. The purpose of a mascota is mostly limited to accompanying a luchador ; sometimes, however, mascotas will be part of the match itself. Rudo mascotas are known for helping the luchador they are accompanying cheat, while tecnico mascotas will act as a second pair of eyes, warning a luchador of danger behind him. Most mascotas are adult men with dwarfism, although it is not unheard of for luchadores to use their own children as mascotas, when this is the case, their mascotas will almost never fight and will leave the ring after the entrada al ring (rather than stay ringside).
